Obituary of Betty E. Connor
Please share a memory of Betty to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Betty, beloved wife (66 years) of Kenneth Connor, peacefully passed to her blessed reward leaving a service legacy. Predeceased by parents Herman and Ruth (Stagner) Eldredge, sisters Dora Blackmon and Lucy Walker, and survived by siblings Mary Urtel and Bruce Eldredge, husband Kenneth and daughters Ann (Joseph) Ottobre and Patricia, grandchildren Erin (Ryan) Wallington and Steven Ottobre, and great-grandson Maddox Joseph Wallington, and loving nieces, nephews, neighbors, extended family, and dedicated LHS Class of 1950 friends.
Retirement from Niagara County Department of Social Services led her to Diocese of Buffalo Ladies of Charity serving as projects volunteer, president, and co-coordinator of the annual fashion “Style Show” for 17 years. At Lockport All Saints Parish, she handcrafted baptismal bibs and stolls, cleaned the church, tended gardens, and lectored.
She enjoyed gardening, laughing, family, writing commemorative poems, vacations at Lake George, WNY summers on her front porch, and holidays, especially her annual July 4th picnic. She sewed flawlessly. A relentless recycler and ever-energetic spitfire, Betty left this earth better than she found it. Her loss rings far and wide.
Her Memorial Mass is Saturday, December 21, 2019, 11:00 a.m. in All Saints Parish, 76 Church Street, Lockport, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. Donations may be made to Ladies of Charity, 1122 Broadway, Buffalo, NY, 14212, or your preferred charity.
