Obituary of Eleanor Bale

Eleanor D. Bale passed away December 17, 2010 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born April 18, 1926 in Lockport she was the daughter of William B. and Mary Magdeline (nee Mangold) Morris. Eleanor worked as a telephone operator for 38 years with New York Telephone retiring on August 14, 1982. She was a life long member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and also belonged to the NY Telephone Pioneers, the Eagles Auxiliary and the Lupus Association. Eleanor was predeceased by her husbands Robert F. Diermyer in 1985 and Richard S. Bale in 2007.
Eleanor is survived by her son William Diermyer of Lockport; step-mother of Richard Bale of Niagara Falls, Rebecca E. Bale, Deborah (Dave) Hillman both of Lockport, Deanna (Gordon) Haseley of Newfane and Esther Bale of Lockport; grandmother of six and great grandmother of four; sister of Lyndon Morris of Texas and the late Elizabeth Coleman; survived by several nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Donations to the Lupus Alliance of America, 3871 Harlem Road, Buffalo, NY 14215 would be appreciated by the family.
