Obituary of Norman C. Wilson
Norman C. Wilson, Sr., died on October 11, 2019, age 92, born June 4, 1927, in Lockport, NY.
He lived in Rochester, NY, for many years and then moved to Medina, NY, where he worked for Lapp Express Company as a driver-dispatcher. He retired as a Teamster of Local 375 in Buffalo, then worked at Armstrong Pumps in N. Tonawanda for another 10 years.
He served as a Sergeant in the US Army with the 1257th Service Command Unit and was a special chauffer for the United Nations.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Society in Medina for over 50 years, VFW Lincoln Post 1483 in Medina, Jr. Wilson Sportsman Club in Medina and the Medina Lodge of Masons #336 where he received his 50-years certificate in 2007. He was Past Grand Lodge Officer of the Masons for NY State. In 1970-1971 he served as District Deputy for Niagara and Orleans counties, was a past member of the Alhpa-Omega Council of Royal and Select Masters, Medina Chapter 281 of the Royal Arch Masons. In Lockport, Norm belonged to American Legion Post 410, Dale Association of Senior Citizens, and Elks lodge 41, where he received the Elk of the Year Award in 2005. He also belongs to the I.O.O.B. Club in Alexandria, VA.
Norm was also a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church in Lockport. Norm enjoyed bowling and wood working, making bird houses and feeders.
He is predeceased by his wife, Marian I. (Thompson) Wilson of Lockport; daughter, Kathy Ann Wilson of Newark; and his brother, Frederick T. Wilson of Alexandria, VA. Norm is survived by his son, Norman K. (Susan) Wilson, Jr. of Lockport; daughter, Debra L. (Robert) Jones of Medina; grandsons, Brian M. Wilson of Tampa, Florida, Andrew J. Dotterweich of N. Tonawanda; granddaughters, Stacy R. Wilson (Matt Summers) of Lackawanna, Amy K. Dotterweich of N. Tonawanda; great-grandson, Theo W. Summers of Lackawanna; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his very dear friend, Dorothy C Stockton.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, October 16th from 4-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where a memorial service will be held Thursday, October 17th at 11 AM.
