Obituary of Ulysses Patterson
Ulysses Patterson passed away October 5, 2019 in Niagara Hospice House. Born July 18, 1934 in Belleville AL, he was the son of State and Irene (Rudolph) Patterson, Sr. Ulysses retired from Harrison Radiator after 44 years where he was a foreman and master welder. He was a retired Chief of the Niagara County Auxiliary Police. Ulysses was of lifetime member of the Lock City Glee Club, Prince Hall Grand Lodge, Paramount Lodge #73 where he was a Past Master Mason, and was a Shriner. He also served on the Advisory Council for the Niagara County Office of the Aging and was also a boy scout leader. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking, singing, canning, taking road trips, watching old westerns, and enjoyed word puzzles.
Ulysses was predeceased by two children: Joanne Patterson and Larry Ulysses Patterson. He is survived by his wife Rosa Vinson Patterson, children: Alice Patterson, James (Vilma) Patterson, Tracy (Kim Pecorella) Patterson, and Paul (Shannon) Patterson; daughter-in-law, Virginia Patterson; thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; siblings Willie Patterson, State Patterson, Jr., Frances Patterson, and Lewis (Emma) Patterson; also several nieces and nephews. Besides his two children, Ulysses was also predeceased by his siblings, Tony Rudolph, Ollie (Claudia) Patterson, Flora Bradley, Irene Wooley, Minnie Murphy, and Eddie (Bertha) Howard.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, October 11th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and Saturday, October 12th from 1-5pm at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 14th at 10 am at The Chapel at Crosspoint, 500 Crosspoint Pkwy., Getzville. Interment will be Acacia Park Cemetery, Tonawanda.
