Gary Leon "French Fry" Coleman left to be with the lord suddenly, Monday, December 8, 2010. Many knew him as "French Fry&amp;quot;. Gary was given this nickname because of his slender build and golden skin tone. He was born February 14, 1958, Valentine&amp;#39;s Day, in Morgantown, West Virginia. Gary graduated from Lockport Senior High School, and moved to Atlanta Georgia. He became a sous chef and worked in several hotels and franchise restaurants. Gary also had served in the Navy during "Desert Shield". He returned to Lockport shortly after his discharge. Gary worked at Denny's and Applebees, until he was diagnosed with an incurable heart disease. He received a heart transplant in 1998, cheating death and blessing his family and friends and for an additional twelve years. Even though disabled by the transplant, Gary still enjoyed working with Meals on Wheels delivering meals to the local elderly. He was known by his unique sense of humor and his particular way of viewing life. Gary loved life and being with friends. Valentine&amp;#39;s Day was an appropriate birthday for him. Gary is survived by his mother and father, Morries and Annie (Coleman) Gibson of Lockport. He also is survived by three brothers James Cottrell of Bloomberg, TX, Tyrone Gibson of Quincy FL and Clifton (Sharon) Gibson of Gasport and sister, Abra Tucker of Lockport; nephew Justin Gibson and niece Jariese Tucker. He also leaves behind numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Family and friends may call Monday 1-4 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will immediately follow at 4 PM. Donations to Meals On Wheels or the local American Heart Association would be appreciated by the family.
