Betty Glena passed away August 10, 2009 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born May 29, 1928 in Alabama, NY she was the daughter of Almon and Lillian (Wagner) Smith. Betty worked in production for Harrison Radiator of which where she retired from. She belonged to the Travel Club and enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking. Betty was predeceased by her husband Donald G. Glena on February 8, 1997.
Betty is survived by her children Leslie (Alice) Glena, Bruce (Linda) Glena both of Lockport and Debra Ann (Gerald) Milliman of Middleport; grandmother of Tiffany (Michael) Williamson, Trisha Milliman, Trinity Milliman, Sara Glena, Michael (Daniele) Glena, the late Ryan (Angela) Glena; great grandmother of Michael Aaron, Christopher Austin, Nicholas Anthony, Brooke Elizabeth, Marcella Ryan, Paige Olivia, and Dustin Ryan; sister of LaVerne (Mary Lou) Smith of Basom, NY, Gordon (Sandra) Smith of Medina, Donald (Ruth) Smith of Kendall, Grant (Shirley) Smith of Medina, Evelyn (Albert) Ribbeck of Lockport and Onnolee (late Victor) Lauren of Missouri; also survived by several nieces and nephews, also survived by her faithful friend Rusty Lee the dog.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, and Thursday morning 10 to 11 AM in the church, followed by a funeral services at 11 AM in St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Wolcotsville. Memorials to the American Diabetes Foundation, 315 Alberta Drive, Suite 102, Amherst, NY 14226 would be appreciated by the family.
