Obituary of Jack D. Roberts
Jack D. Roberts passed away, peacefully, on Tuesday, August 13th, 2019. Jack was born in Lockport NY on August 2nd, 1929; he was the son of the late Leslie Roberts and Blanche (MacFarlane) Roberts. Jack was a lifelong well-known local businessman. He was the founder of Roberts Roofing and Siding Co. Inc. His passion for carpentry came from working alongside his father Leslie and Grandfather Homer Roberts. Jack ventured out on his own in the late 1950’s working from the Roberts homestead in Lockport NY and later incorporating and moving his business to 6279 Ridge Rd Lockport NY in 1969. His passion in life was his business and he enjoyed servicing the community generation after generation. Jack was proud to know that his two sons, Jerry and Jamey, have followed in his footsteps and will continue to operate the family business.
Jack and his late wife, Carol E. Roberts enjoyed traveling, boating, spending time at their lake house and also their home in Ft. Lauderdale FL. Jack had a love for his classic car collection, sharing stories from his childhood and always telling jokes. He was a lifelong member of the Lockport Sunrise Optimist Club, B.P.O.E Lodge 41 Elks Club and Clinton Club.
Jack is the father of Jerry D. Roberts, Jeffery D. Roberts , Jill D. Roberts, Jamey D. (Teri) Roberts, Jason D. (Cheryl DiMatteo) Roberts and stepfather of Anthony S. (Candy) Porter, Jr.; grandfather of Jeffery D. Roberts , Jamey D. Roberts, Jerrod D. (Catherine) Roberts, Janelle D. (Kevin) Achtyl, Jace D. Roberts, Livia D. Roberts and Barrett D. Roberts.; step grandfather of Anthony S. Porter III, Ashley L. Porter, and Tonya (Bill) Cassidy; great grandfather of nine. Jack is also the brother of the late Margaret (Kenneth) Stahler and two surviving nieces Marcia Stahler and Elaine Stahler.
