Obituary of Margaret Robert Stahler

Margaret Jane "Marky" Roberts Stahler, age 88, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday December 2, 2010, at Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Her husband, Kenneth L. Stahler, preceded her in death on December 9, 1996. Margaret was born May 17, 1922, the daughter of Leslie C. and M. Blanche (MacFarlane) Roberts. She is survived by two daughters Marcia J. Stahler of Cicero, NY and Elaine M. Stahler of Lockport and one brother, Jack D. (Carol) Roberts of Lyndonville, NY and dear sister-in-law of Jean Roberts of Lockport.
Margaret graduated from Lockport High School in 1940 and was married in 1945. She worked as an Administrative Assistant in Purchasing, then sales at Simonds Saw and Steel retiring in 1980. As a lifelong member of Second Presbyterian Church where she served as elder, Sunday School director, choir director and Clerk of Session. Fond of knitting and sewing, Margaret loved to create items for her church bazaars as well as for the Lockport Presbyterian Home's fundraisers. As a longtime member of that auxiliary, she volunteered well into her retirement. Margaret also served as a member and past president of Church Women United and the Lockport Chapter of Professional Secretaries International.
No prior visitation. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at 1 PM at Second Presbyterian Church, 71 Van Buren St., Lockport, NY. Inunrment will be in Stahler Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the church or Lockport Presbyterian Home, Activity Fund, 305 High Street, Lockport, would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at www.pruddenandkandt.com.

A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at 1 PM at Second Presbyterian Church, 71 Van Buren St., Lockport, NY.
