Obituary of Robert G. Long

Robert G. Long passed away July 23, 2019 in Lockport Rehab & Health Care Center.  Born January 31, 1932 in Port Allegany, PA he was the son of Bernard and Jeanette (Peno) Long.  Robert served in the US Air Force from 1951-1955 being awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Commendation Ribbon, and the Good Conduct Medal.  He worked for Sierra Research in Buffalo where he was a Supervisor of Quality Control.  He was a member of the Tuscarora and Olcott Yacht Club, the NRA, and an amateur ham radio operator, call sign WA2NXA.  Robert enjoyed fishing and hunting. You could often see him sitting in his garage enjoying a cigar.  He was predeceased by his wife Nancy (Slavin) Long on July 1, 2016.

Robert is survived by his children Patrick (Angela) Long, Michael (Karen) Long, and Ann (Darrell) Laseter; grandchildren Jennifer Long, Allison (Brian) Hopkins, Sean (Kristen) Shea, Chris (Francesca) Laseter, Ashley Laseter, Alex, Laseter and Kacee Long, great grandchildren Madison Long, Olivia Long, Davin Shea and Hayden Shea.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, July 28th from 1-5 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 29th at 10 AM in All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport. In lieu of flowers donations to the Lockport Palace Theatre. Lockportpalacetheatre.org click yellow donate button at bottom or mail check to 2 East Ave. Lockport, NY 14094.
