Obituary of Marjorie Herrick

Marjorie Herrick (nee Healy) passed away on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010 at the age of 89.
A native of Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of Emma and Martin Healy. Mrs. Herrick graduated from Lockport High School, and then attended Cornell University, graduating in 1941 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in History. In 1943, Mrs. Herrick began a career with American Airlines in Buffalo, holding numerous positions, and eventually transferring to the firm's San Francisco office. In 1956, Mrs. Herrick left American Airlines and relocated to Hamburg, NY, where she and her first husband, Robert M. O'Brien, opened that area's first travel agency �" O'Brien Travel Service. The firm was very successful and was eventually purchased by the Fisher Travel Group in 1988. Mrs. Herrick was able to travel extensively throughout her lifetime, and enjoyed making many lasting friendships from New Zealand to South Carolina. After the death of her first husband, Mrs. Herrick married Roy S. Herrick in 1973 and lived in Eden, NY until 2005.
She was the sister of the late Kathleen H. Crowley and the late Rosemary H. Shaft. She is survived by her niece, Susan Olsen of Aurora, OH; a nephew Martin (Sylvia) Shaft of Lockport, NY; a step-daughter Lynne (Brian) McNulty of Rochester, NY; six grand nephews, two step grand-sons, and a step great grand son.
