Obituary of Mary Shipley

Mary G. Shipley passed away Sunday November 28, 2010 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in Lockport on June 28, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Florence "Geneva" Ives Gartner. Mary worked at Abstract Title, and later was a legal secretary for Paul Seaman, Atty. She was a member of the Eccumenical Choir, a former Women's City Tennis Champ in 1947, was one of the better horse shoe pitchers in the 1960's. Mary enjoyed reading.
Mary is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard H. Shipley, Sr., of Lockport. Mother of Susan (Michael, Lt. Col. Ret.) Feeley of San Antonio, Tx., Gail (Mark) Hamilton of Gasport, Karen Shipley, Richard H. Shipley, Jr. and Stephen Shipley all of Lockport; grandmother of Kevin and Megan Feeley, Bryan Hamilton and Sara Jo Castelluccio; great grandmother of John Anthony Castelluccio. Mary was the sister of LaVerne Rongo of Lockport and the late Ralph Gartner.
Friends may call Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 AM in All Saints Parish at St. Patrick's Church, 76 Church Street, Lockport. Entombment will be in Glenwood Mausoleum. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.
