Obituary of Robert Niethe
Robert E Niethe “Bob”, 87, born in Lockport, NY on June 30, 1931 was the son of late Fred O. Niethe and Margaret (Nolan) Niethe, passed away in the comfort of Hospice care on June 24, 2019
Robert served in the US Army and Reserves from 1952-1960 Rank Sargent 8247th Sp. Troops Charley Company.
He retired from General Motors in Lockport after 20 years in 1996. In retirement he enjoyed all that the outdoors could provide fishing, photography, and tending his gardens. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He shared with them his love for fishing and hiking. Teaching them at a very young age how to bait a hook, be patient and enjoy all of what nature has to offer. He constantly expressed how proud he was of each and everyone of them. Robert also had a love for dogs and had many throughout his lifetime. Cowboy was loved by all and every morning you would be able to find him walking along the Canal with Cowboy by his side.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Hiroko Tsuchiya of 65 years, sons William (Chris) Niethe, Roger (Kris) Niethe, daughter Judy (Doug) Snow, three granddaughters Melissa J. Niethe, Jessica M. Wulf (Isaac), Hana J. Snow, and two great grandchildren Brianna and Madelyn Wulf. As well as many nieces, nephews and close friends. Robert was predeceased by his brothers Merle “Bud” Niethe, Norman Niethe.
