Obituary of Charles M. Meyer, Sr.
Charles M. Meyer, Sr., of Pendleton, went home to be with his Savior on Flag Day at the age of 87 after a long illness. Canadian born was he, but his action to serve in the USAF during the Korean War proved his love for these United States of America. Chuck then moved his family to Maine, then to Kenmore, NY, then to Pendleton, NY in 1964 where he lived out his days with his beloved wife, Alice, of 66 years. Charles worked for Canlake then Ashland then NOCO from which he retired in the 1990’s after 30 years. Thereafter, Chuck worked for the Park Service at Beaver Island. Chuck and Alice had eight children all surviving, Charles, Jr., Judith, Mark (Kathy), Tracey (late Joseph) Webb, Matthew (Janet), Daniel, David (Angel), and Katie. They have 28 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. Chuck is survived by his sister, Jean of Toronto, Canada who will be 102 this year. He was predeceased by his beloved siblings, Ion, June, and Joan (Lester).
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, June 20th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Funeral services will be celebrated Friday, June 21st at 1 PM in Calvary Baptist Church, 405 Lincoln Ave., Lockport. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery.
