I only knew Ryan for about 6 months, and I had met him at the skatepark, when I first started going to UB. He was a constant presence at the skatepark, and was always supportive of what tricks you were trying. He was nice enough to tell me about the music he would be playing for everyone at the skatepark out of his speaker, and even offered my friend and I doughnuts. He always was open to talking and if you were there, you were his friend. What I'm trying to say is if you didn't know better, you would think he ran the skatepark. I'm incredibly sorry for your loss, but you should be very happy with what an impact your son will have left on that skatepark and all the people who go there. I sincerely hope that the park will find some way to commemorate him with the expansion, as that is what Ryan deserves. I'm sorry I couldn't be there for the funeral, but I only just found out, and I live in Queens. I hope the ceremony goes well.

I met Ryan for the first time at the Alix Rice skatepark, he would be jamming out with his Bluetooth speaker playing songs from the old Tony Hawk pro skater video games and skating trying to learn new tricks and he would always have a smile on his face enjoying the atmosphere of the skate session. I loved teaching him new skateboard tricks and talking to him. I think that it's really cool that his dad was a skateboarder too, and that he would go out skateboarding with his dad before his dad passed away, and that he got to keep that piece of his dad with him every time he wentered out skateboarding. Ryan was and is a kind, gentle soul and he will always be missed. I'm sure he is up in Heaven skateboarding with his dad in the presence of Jesus where he will live pain free for all eternity. God's grace be with you!
