Marie Ann (Bentley) Williams, 73, of Lockport passed away on Monday, November 22, 2010. Marie was born on June 16, 1937 in Manhattan Island, NY was the daughter of the late Arnold and Bridget (Ford) Bentley. She graduated from Kensington High School in 1955. Marie was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church where she belonged to the Alter & Rosary Society and the Legion of Mary. She was an avid reader, was active in Catholic Home School, a Brownie Leader and Den Mother and a Parks Commissioner under Mayor Michael Shanley. Marie was a woman always with a friendly "Hi". She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Marie is survived by her husband William of 48 years, whom she married June 9, 1962 in St. Mary's Church. Also surviving is her daughter Mary Shannon Perry of Newark Valley, NY; sisters-in-law Audrey (Frank) Quant of Gasport, Betty Lou (Paul) Fiegl of Swormsville and several nieces and nephews. Marie predeceased by her beloved son Joseph Bentley Williams.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday 5-7 and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street where prayers will be offered Monday at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM to be celebrated in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials to DeSales Catholic School, 6914 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
