Obituary of Leon C. Harling, Jr.

Leon C. Harling, Jr. passed away February 14, 2019 in Niagara Hospice House.  Born July 22, 1945 in Batavia he was the son of Leon C. and Hazel (Brown) Harling Sr.  He served in the Army National Guard and worked for Harrison radiator for 32 years where he was a tow motor operator retiring in 1997. After his retirement he drove school bus for Ridge Road.  He was an avid fisherman on Oneida Lake and enjoyed hunting.  Leon was a member of the American Legion Post 1153 and was a Mason for several years.

Leon is survived by his wife Norma (Ciarfella) Harling; children Rosemarie (Rowland) O’Malley, Marc (Tonya) LaForest, Joseph (Andrea) LaForest, Gerald LaForest, Christopher (Alyssa) LaPort; fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brother Darrell (Susan) Harling; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, Feb. 17th from 1-5 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Feb. 18th at 11 AM in All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport.  Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.  Donations to Niagara Hospice or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
