Obituary of Clare M. Frey

Clare M. Frey passed away January 31, 2019 under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born January 15, 1927 in Buffalo she was the daughter of Herman and Emily (Bonhart) Hoefer.  Clare graduated from Buffalo State Teachers College, student taught in Pendleton, taught at Academy School in Williamsville from 1952-1964 and owned Wishing Well Antiques.  She was a member St. Pius X  where she belonged to the Altar & Rosary Society, St. Gregory the Great, and the Audubon Society.  Clare enjoyed bird watching, was a book enthusiast and collected books, listened to classical music, attending the theater and arts, traveling, and going to flee markets.  She was predeceased by her husband Carl Frey who passed away March 9, 1997 and her brother Joseph Hoefer in 1961.

Clare is survived by her son Steven (Karen) Frey; grandchildren Carl (Ashley) Frey, Joseph (Dawn) Frey, Stephanie (Shaun) Carr, and Krista (Keith) Reid; adopted grandchild Jeff Conrad; great grandchildren Cadin, Lily, Lexi Frey, Lee, Amelia, and Duncan Carr.

Relatives and friends may call Saturday, Feb. 2nd from 4-7 PM with services following at 7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  In lieu of flowers donations to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated.
