Obituary of Rita P. Meiser

Rita Meiser entered into eternal rest on January 8, 2019.  Rita was born on August 1, 1923 in Akron she was the daughter of Albert and Edith Peters.  She retired from General Motors in 1967 after 25 years of service.  She was also a member of the YMCA Swim Team, where she was awarded an award for swimming 100 miles, and the Dale Association.  Rita loved to dance, and is remembered with a smile, when she would burst out in song or yodeling.  Rita was married to the late Harold Handrich and the late Lester Meiser.  She was the cherished mother of the late James (Norma) Handrich. 

Rita was the step-mother of Gerald (Sheri Waldo) Meiser; grandmother of Michael (Tricia), James (Jill), and Daniel (Kate Heschke) Handrich, and Robin (Jason Donaldson) Smith; great grandmother of eight; sister of Betty (late Trivette) Currier, and late Fred (late Norma) Peters, Doris Stump, Helen (Tony) Mudrzynski, Alice (Tom) Greene, Margaret Brucker, Raymond, Albert, and Richard Peters; also several survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, Jan. 11th from 4-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  Funeral services will held Saturday, Jan. 12th at 10 AM in Trinity Lutheran Church, 67 Saxton St., Lockport.  Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery.  Donations to the church would be appreciated by the family.
