Obituary of Teresa Wanecski

Teresa M. Wanecski passed away November 12, 2010 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born June 5, 1919 in Medina, NY she was the daughter of the late William and Veronica (Littlebetter) Mendel. Teresa worked in production at Sherwood-Selpac Corp. in Lockport for several years, prior to that she worked at the W.T. Grant Store and Williams Bros. Department Store. She enjoyed volunteering, gardening, fishing, the culinary arts, but especially loved spending time with family and friends. Teresa was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, Aerie #825 F.O.E. Ladies Auxiliary, Dale Association and was on the Board of Directors of the YWCA and was a Travelogue Hostess for the YWCA. She is predeceased by her husband Stanley Wanecski, who passed away February 17, 1977.
Teresa is survived by her son William J. (Mary Ann) Wanecski of Vestal, NY and her daughter, Terry (Roger) Marmor of Springfield, IL. Grandmother of Mary Beth (Michael) Carboni of Endicott, NY, Ann Marie (Philip) Puleo of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Rita Marmor of NYC and Kurt Marmor of Springfield, IL.; great grandmother of Rose, Caramia and Angelo Carboni. Teresa was the sister in-law of Velma Mendel of Boulder City, NV, Rita Mazur, Helen Zelazny and Eugene Wanecski all of Medina, NY and special friends Sam and Rachel D'Augistino and Midge Snyder. She is predeceased by her brothers Raymond Mendel and William Mendel, Jr.
Friends may call Monday 4 to 7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10 AM at All Saints Parish in St. Patrick's Church, 76 Church Street, Lockport, NY. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Medina, NY. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
