Obituary of Haila Alexander Kennedy

Haila Ruby Alice (Alexander) Kennedy 62, of Latham NY, passed away on September 28, 2018 after a long battle with ovarian cancer.  Born in Lockport on June 8, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Esther (Luff) Alexander. She was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, John Kennedy.                                                                                                                                                                           

 

Haila is survived by her sons Alexander and John Jr (Joan ) Kennedy and grandson Jack Joseph Kennedy of Albany.  Haila was loved by her brothers and sisters: the late Sue (late Frank) Westgate, W.P. Michael (Donna), Brian of Clifton Hill, Rita Volpe of Grand Island, Zoe (David) Shufelt, Ivan, Fred (Lorrie), Nicholas of Commerce City CO, Kate (Dennis) Mahoney of North Tonawanda, Kirk (Donna) of Rochester and the late Ross. Also mother in law Rosemary (late Frank) Kennedy of Albany and many nieces and nephews.  Haila wanted to thank her other sisters: niece Darlene Lohnas and former sister in law Katherine Wilson Alexander for being there in the last months of her life.  Haila's family would also like to thank everyone who reached out with their support and love through this difficult time. Haila was so brave and will forever be missed. 

 

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, Nov. 1st from 4-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Nov. 2nd at 11 AM in St. John The Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport.
