Obituary of Isaac Vanderlinde
Isaac Vanderlinde passed away October 29, 2018 in Elderwood at Lockport. Born October 3, 1922 in Sodus, NY he was the son of Isaac and Lena Vanderlinde. Isaac served in the US Army from 1943-1946 in the Philippines, being awarded the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. He worked for Harrison Radiator for 16 years where he was a tool & die maker. Isaac was a member of the American Legion B. Leo Dolan Post 416, VFW, NRA, DAV, and was the oldest and longest active member of the North Forest Rod & Gun Club. He was an avid sportsman, trap and skeet shooter, and enjoyed reading and playing poker with his friends. Isaac was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Taylor) Vanderlinde on May 28, 2017.
Isaac is survived by children James (Susan) Vanderlinde, Robert (Linda) Vanderlinde, Mary Kay (Robert) Bewley and late William H. Vanderlinde; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; survived by one brother and predeceased by seven siblings; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday, November 4th from 1-5 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 5th at 10 AM in All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
