Obituary of Edith Knatler

Edith B. Knatler, of Lockport, N.Y. entered into rest Nov. 4th, 2010 in Lockport, NY Born April 19, 1920 in Conewango Valley, NY she was the daughter of the late Murnie Bromley Buskist and Chauncy Bromley. Edith worked at Harrison Radiator GMC in the office from 1942 to 1954. She also worked in the Lockport School System for many years. She was a very active member of the Lockport Chapter #73 Order of the Eastern Star joining in 1949 and recently honored for 60 years of membership. Edith served as Worthy Matron in 1990. She was also a member of the Amaranth and Royal Matron for Lockport Court # 145 in 1980; Royal Matron for Jenny Lind Court #163 in Williamsville Amherst Temple. Edith was Grand Truth for the Order of Amaranth of the State of New York and District Deputy of the 19th District for the Amaranth. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, crafting, gardening and was a volunteer for the Lockport Senior Center for 14 years. Edith became a very active resident in Lockport making many close friends. Her beloved husband of 56 years, Frederick W. Knatler passed away September 22, 2001. Edith was predeceased by her siblings Dorothy G. Lynch, Albert Bromley, Marion Bartholomew and Ernest Bromley. She is survived by her sister in law Vivian Bromley of Perrysburg, NY (wife of Ernest), Marlene Lynch (wife of deceased nephew Kenneth Lynch) and their children Diane (David) McKune, Steven (Kimberly) Lynch of Durham, NC and several other nieces, nephews and their children. Edith also leaves behind a very special niece Kathleen (Charles) Landry and their children Cindy (Daniel) Coakley of Lockport; Susan (Michael) Carlin of Lockport and Jeffrey Landry of Glendale, AZ; also special great great nieces Molly and Megan Coakley. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport on Monday, November 8th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m on Tuesday, November 9th with the Rev. Dr. Duane Priset of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church officiating. Eastern Star &amp; Amaranth services will be conducted at 6:45 pm Monday. Burial will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials made to the charity of choice.
