Obituary of George Belmont Chaffin, Jr.

George Belmont Chaffin Jr. passed away on Friday September 28, 2018 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport.  Born in Auburn, NY on March 6, 1931, he was the son of the late George Sr. and Grace Jones Chaffin.  George retired from the NYS Department of Transportation.  He served in the US Marines during the Korean War from 1952 until 1953.  He coached football and baseball for over two decades and was very proud of the Men those young boys grew into.  He left behind a legacy of love and service.  Beside his parents, George is predeceased by his son George “Dutch” Chaffin III.

George is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon (nee Farrell) Chaffin; father of Sharon Beth Kane, Phil Chaffin and Don Chaffin; father in-law of Terrie Wells; grandfather of Kayleigh Kane, Dillon Kane and Lillian Young and his great grandson Kade Kane.  George is also survived by his sister Donna Patterson.
