Obituary of Daniel Speck

Daniel A. Speck passed away October 31, 2010 in Niagara Hospice House.
Born April 10, 1940 he was the son of Anna Marie Gersitz Speck and the late George Speck. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Alfred State in Ceramic Engineering and his Master's Degree from RIT in Statistical Analysis. Dan worked in management for Cobham Carlton Technology of Orchard Park retiring in 1996 after 20 years. Dan was a life long runner, entering hundreds of races over the years including the Boston Marathon twice. An avid woodworker, he designed and built the family residence and created a peaceful surrounding in his beloved woods. He and his wife traveled extensively to Japan, Egypt, Hungary, Switzerland, France, Germany and Italy many times. They also motored and cruised the East and West coasts. In his spare time he enjoyed sculpturing and winemaking. He was a dear and sweet man.
Besides his mother Dan is survived by his wife Joann (Police) Speck; his children Christopher Speck of Middleport and Anne Marie Speck of Laguna Beach, CA. He is also the brother of Robert (Jackie) Speck, Michael (Christine) Speck, Kathleen (Nicholas) Casalinova all of Lockport and the late William Speck; brother in law of Wendy Speck of Providence, RI.
