I just learned of Uncle Gabe's death having returned from an international conference. We sure will miss him and his presence at all of the family gatherings. I will always remember the Sunday dinners we had at the farm when we were all growing up. He always had a good story to tell and liked a good time and being with family. Kevin connected with him and they had a special bond with their mutual love of open waters, the maritime industry, and woodworking. My heart goes out to you cousins Nancy, Susan, and Barton. I just heard of your passing, Gabe. You treated me like your daughter. I remember your muddled old fashion, gardening the year we lived there, your shop that had everything imaginable in it, all of your woodwork (I still have the wooden squirrel to pull out the oven rack that you made), lots of good times. You'll be missed. My deepest sympathy to Lydia, Emily, Bart, Susan, and Nancy. Your dad was a very unique person.

I met Gabe as a very good friend of my mother, Anne Platt. Though I only spoke with him several times, he was always friendly, knowledgeable, and was one of the only people I've met to correctly guess the origin of my surname, due to our shared ethnic Austro-Hungarian heritage. His family has my deepest condolences.

Dear Galambos family- Although we met late in life, me 40 and him 80? He was a year older than my biological dad. He soon became the dad I never had. For the 8 yrs I lived next door and beyond he gave me advise and counseling during heart to hearts, pep talks and occasional too many manhattan talks at the picnic table in murph's back yard..I am proud say I met him. And if the commercial didn't already say it I would say he's the most interesting man in the world. Love you Gabe and Lydia
