Obituary of Francis W. Flores
Francis “Fran” W. Flores passed away on Friday April 21, 2018. Born in NYC, NY, May 21, 1937, he was the son of the late Damian and Helena Borden Flores. Fran served in United States Air Force from 1956-1960 and then attended the University of New York at Albany, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in 1965 followed by some graduate coursework undertaken between 1965 until 1967.
Fran taught Math and Science at La Salle School, Albany, NY from 1965-1969. He joined Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company in 1969, serving as an agent in Albany, NY from 1969 -1972, moving to the Home Office in Springfield, MA to undertake the position of Superintendent of Pension Trust Sales from 1972-1976. From 1976-1984, Fran was Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company's Pension Specialist in Atlanta, GA. In 1981 he was named the Atlanta Agency's Man of the Year. From 1984 until his retirement in 1992, Fran was the President and Owner of Qualified Plans Services, Inc., Atlanta, GA. Fran always had a love of cars, clothes and reading.
Fran is survived by his wife, Carol A. Hrvol Flores Ph.D., who he married on June 15, 1968; his sister, Elizabeth (David) Shell and their children: Diane, David, Damian and their families. Fran was the brother in-law of Diane (Michael) Hrvol Kilroy; Uncle of Lynne Kilroy and Charles Turner, Jeffrey Kilroy and Amy Ferrari, Chelsea and Sarah Kilroy, Marayna, and Magden Ferrari, Mark and Brooke Ann Lewis Kilroy, Alexia and Torryn Kilroy.
