Obituary of Virginia D. DeVoe

Virginia D. (Rossow) DeVoe passed April 1, 2018 under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born to Rolland C. Rossow and Eleanor C. Sattelberg Rossow Stanley on April 18, 1932 in Clarence Center, NY.  She married Arthur H. DeVoe July 26, 1952, he passed away November 30, 1981 and Frank C. Hixenbaugh Sr. May 10, 2008, he passed away April 19, 2010.  Virginia worked at Mount View Health Care Facility for 20 years as a certified nursing assistant, several years for the City of Lockport as a crossing guard, and also several years for the Board of Education as a lunch monitor.  She enjoyed traveling and also reading.  Virginia was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Lockport for 30 years.

Virginia leaves behind her children Darryl (Michalene) DeVoe, Crystal DeVoe, Diane (Gary) Woodcock and the late Robin (Barbara) DeVoe; siblings Elrene Monroe and the late Lloyd Rossow; grandmother of Justin, James, Thomas, Anthony, Joseph, Emily, Tod, Erik, Laurie and David and several step grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Friday April 6th 3-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where Funeral services will be held Saturday April 7th at 10 AM.  Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Niagara Hospice would be appreciated.
