Ricky, Annie, Lisa, and Family,
I posted the following for "Uncle Dick" when he passed 7 years ago in Feb 2011:
"To Joanne, Ricky, Annie, Lisa,
In light of the fact that you're cousins to me, I'll always remember your father & mother as Uncle Dick, and Aunt Joanne. It's been quite some time since I last saw Uncle Dick however, he'll be missed nonetheless. He's in a better place now…"
Still remember Aunt Joanne as a crossing guard at Roy Kelly school during the 60's and early 70's. Also, remember the family move from the Akron Rd. address to 58 Oliver St. Then, fast forward to when she and Mom always played golf together in the later years. They were very close and really enjoyed each others company.
We last saw Joanne during Mom's service in Oct, 2017. It would have been nice to spend some quality time with her then but unfortunately, circumstances dictated otherwise. As painful as it is to lose a loved one at any time, your mother no less made it to her 92nd birthday. A very kind, generous, and loving lady, she lived a very long and fulfilling life. Her legacy yields 3 wonderful children, 12 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. That is the true definition of success.
So many lose one or both parents at too early an age. Relish the fact that your Mom & Dad reached their "twilight" years, unlike many. For that, you can be thankful.
She was a sweetheart with her cheery disposition, and we're all going to miss her, no doubt.
Nonetheless, Aunt Joanne is in a much better place now, and at peace. Now, Mom will have the added company of her close friend and relative, among many others.
We'll see them all on the other side soon enough...

Rick,
I am so sorry about your Mom. I remember her as a crossing guard when we were kids. Such a nice woman.
Please let us know at City Hall if you need anything. The Mayor and Chris have also asked me to pass on their condolences to you and your family.

The Seiler children were truly blessed to grow up with such a wonderful lady and great family friend right next door to us for many years. I am sure she and "Tootie" are sitting up there in Heaven catching up and talking about the good old days. Our condolences to Rick, Lisa and the entire Abbott Family. I know everyone will miss her kind soul and her smile.
