Obituary of Elmer Eberhard

Elmer G Eberhard passed away October 11, 2010 in Niagara Hospice House. Born August 19, 1927 in Buffalo he was the son of Elmer P. and Gertrude (Pope) Eberhard. Elmer worked for GM Powertrain Plant for 33 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Grand Island Rod & Gun Club, Mohawk Gun Club, and the Tonawanda Sportsmen's Club. He was an outdoor enthusiast, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf. Elmer was in the US Army from 1942 to 1948 where was apart of the US Army Rifle Team. He was also a Youth Rifle Team Coach.
Elmer is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy(Dorsch) Eberhard of Lockport; father of Jessica Abbott of Tonawanda, Laura (late Donald) Pfalzer of Lockport, and Nicholas (Renee) of Middleport; grandfather of ten and great grandfather of fourteen; brother of the late Donald Eberhard, and the late Irene Crump; and also his beloved canine companion Dexter.
There will be no prior visitation. A memorial mass will be held at St John's Church, Lockport on Saturday, October 16, 10AM. Interment will be in United German and French Cemetery, Cheektowaga. Please visit www.pruddenandkandt.com to leave an online condolence to the family.
