Obituary of Marie Macaluso

Marie L. Macaluso passed away peacefully Friday October 8, 2010, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY. Born May 5, 1922 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Giafaglione. Marie devoted her life to the care of her family and her home. She was a Communicant at both St Joseph's and St John's Roman Catholic Churches. She enjoyed the travelling that she did with her husband, Roy, but the true love and light of her life was her grandchildren. They were the source of much joy and happiness in her life. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Rosario (Roy) on September 9, 2010.
Marie is survived by her children, Roy (Carol) Macaluso of Lockport, Gerald (Diane) Macaluso of Seneca Falls, NY and Cynthia (Sam) Jabaji of Pendleton; grandchildren, Jeremy (Kristen) Macaluso, Jeff Macaluso (Kendra Vermeulen), Rosemarie Jabaji, Tarek Jabaji and Alex Jabaji; sister, Dolores Anderson of Buffalo and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express special thanks for the staff of Niagara Hospice Home and to Dr. Nick Varallo.
There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Monday at 1 PM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport, NY. Entombment will be in Glenwood Mausoleum. Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr, Lockport, NY 14094-1231 would be appreciated by the family.
