Obituary of Kathleen Smith

Kathleen Ann Smith passed away suddenly September 29, 2010 at home. Born October 30, 1962 in Lockport she is the daughter of Carol M. Pratt of Newfane and the late Paul J. Smith. Kathleen was a 1980 graduate of Lockport High School and worked Sherwood Celpac and was a cook at Denny's Restaurant. She enjoyed computers, keeping her medical records, collecting Indian memorabilia, working on her family history, making greeting cards for other people and always thinking of others. Kathleen was known for her sense of humor. She was well known as a "jokester". Kathleen was also known for her brave courageous battle against a spinal cord injury as a result of a car accident in 1991. Besides her mother Kathleen is also survived by her daughter Kathleen C. Hunt of Middleport, brother Michael Smith and sister Susan (Clayton) Schank both of Lockport. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her dedicated nurses aide of 17 years, Sue Pensyl of Lockport. Relatives and friends may call Friday 3-7 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 AM. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials to the Niagara County SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
