Obituary of Mary Louise Flanders
MaryLouise Flanders passed away December 15, 2017 in Erie County Medical Center. Born December 11, 1939 in Lewiston, NY she was the daughter of Robert H. and Frances G. (Weigand) Vitthuhn. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy and went on to Nazareth College majoring in social work and worked for Niagara County Department of Social Services for 30 years retiring in 1995. MaryLouise was a member of All Saints Parish and a past member of St. Mary's RC Church in Lockport where she served on many committees and heading up several. MaryLouise enjoyed crafting, gardening, playing games with her family and winning, and dining out. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas E. Flanders whom she married October 21, 1960 in St. Mary's RC Church, he passed away in 1995. Mary Louise is survived by her children Deborah Oates, Stephen Flanders, Jeffrey (Donna) Flanders, Todd (Mary) Flanders, and Daniel Flanders; grandmother of Brian, Felicia, Riley, Brandon, Neil, and Derek; step-grandmother Scott, Amanda, and James; sister of Gerald, Nicola, Donna, and late Robert; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Monday, Dec. 18th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 19th at 12 Noon in All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.
