Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Foltz Ernest passed away August 22, 2010 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born May 14, 1919 in Lockport she was the daughter of F. Ralph and Thecla (Smith) Foltz and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1937. Betty was a volunteered with the Red Cross and the Home Bureau and was a member of the Lockport Memorial Hospital Guild. She worked briefly as a dental hygienist. Betty was predeceased by her husband's Francis O'Connell in 1952 and William Ernest in 2001. Betty is the sister of Gretchen (Charles) Ridler of Lockport and the late Ray, William, Robert Foltz and Thecla Richards. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday 4-7 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where prayers will be offered Thursday at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in All Saints Parish at St. Patrick's Church, 76 Church St., Lockport. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
