Harold R. Truax, 85, of Lockport passed away August 12, 2017 after a brief illness in Buffalo General Medical Center under the care of Hospice Buffalo. Born in Royalton on August 4, 1932, he was the son of the late Perry R. and Mary (Snediker) Truax. Harold is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ann (Wilkins) Truax; step-daughter Holly (Hewitson) Miller of Pendleton; and cherished grandson Jacob A. Miller. He is also survived by his sister, Jeanette (late Egbert) Hamminga of Olcott, brother Richard Truax of Rochester, and sister-in-law Ida Mae 'Cindy' (late Robert) Truax of Gasport. Harold was predeceased by his siblings Dorothy (Leonard) McCabe, Ruth (Michael) DelPlato, Norman (Barbara) and Kenneth. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Harold served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. He worked for NYSEG for 37 years retiring in 1994. After retirement Harold delivered prescriptions for Rite Aid for over 15 years. He was a member of the American Legion for 60 years and the NYSEG Quarter Century Club.
There will be no prior visitation. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations to the Hospice Foundation of WNY, 225 Como Park Blvd., PO Box 590, Buffalo, NY 14240-0590 would be appreciated by the family. Visit pruddenandkandt.com
