I was privileged to teach with Florence back in the 70s as a young, new teacher. What a wonderful mentor she was! Her gentle, motherly touch with her students always made me smile. I remember that her students and I made her a lap quilt during that time. Does it still exist? Oh, such wonderful memories of a loving woman. I will pray for her and your family.

Please accept my sympathies on your loss. Florence was a lovely lady who was active in our community of the Common until her health limited her ability to come to our celebrations. I cannot attend the funeral due to a work commitment but wanted to pay my respects.

I had Miss Pilato in 3rd grade in the school on Academy Street. I remember her because she always made me feel loved and special. She was one of my favorite teachers!!! She always had a smile even after I graduated and would see her in the community. She was a very special teacher and lady.

"Miss Pilato" was one of my favorite teachers; I have many fond memories of third grade back in 1960! She instilled in me a love of reading and books that has continued throughout my life. God bless one of the greatest teachers ever.
