Dannie M. Dear passed away Saturday August 21, 2010 in Niagara Hospice House. Born August 26, 1956 in Lockport he was the son of the late Donald Dear and Donna LaPort Alexander, and the step son of Joy (George) Dear-Clody and the late Donald Alexander.
Dannie served in the US Air Force as a Loadmaster on C141 airplanes. He worked many years in roofing with various contractors, most recently with J.A. Shugats General Contracting. Dannie enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing golf, softball and bowling. He is predeceased by his wife Susan Herbst Dear, who passed away August 1, 2003.
Dannie was the dedicated father of SSGT. Adam (Samantha) Dear of Lakewood, WA., Andrew Dear of Lockport and Amanda (Nick Redenbach) Dear of Lockport and the grandfather of Peyton Dear. He was the brother of Donald Dear and Debbie (Jack) Warner both of Watertown, NY, Davenee (Joe) Kleitz, Gail (Bill) Luckman, Grace (Joe) Clark all of Lockport, Denise (Randy Willard) Dear of Gasport, Candace (John) Breault of WI. and the late Frank Dear and Donna Lou (Doug) Wurzer. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call Monday 7 to 9 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 AM. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to Roswell Park Cancer Institute or to Niagara Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
