Obituary of Wayne Beane
Wayne “John” Beane of Newfane, loving husband of Shirley (Behm) Beane, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017. Born on January 26, 1938 in Sutton, West Virginia to the late Edmund Byrne Keener and Pearl Hess.
Wayne graduated from Atwater High School in Akron, Ohio in 1955. He moved to Lockport, NY in 1956 where he married Shirley on July 18, 1958. They would have celebrated their 58th Anniversary this year. Wayne worked in production at Harrison Radiator retiring after 30 years in 1986. Following his retirement, he managed the gift shop at Newfane Hospital for many years until it closed. Wayne also served as secretary for Allie Brandt’s and Townline Bowling Alley leagues. During his spare time he enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting, fishing and loved feeding and watching his birds.
In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by his loving children, Mary Beth Beane, Kayla Ann Beane and Patty Ann Beane; grandchildren, Jordan Cunningham and Brianna May Beane; brother, Jim (Yvonne) Beane; sisters, Rose Ann (Late Ronnie) Coffelt and Charlotte Hamrick. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and “Mother Janet (late Okey) Riffle”
The family of Wayne would like to thank the Odd Fellow & Rebekah Nursing Home for their wonderful care, especially the North Unit.
Family and friends are welcome to call Thursday, July 6th from 3 – 7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St. Lockport where Funeral services will immediately follow at 7 PM. Burial in Cold Springs Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Wayne’s name to the charity of your choice.
