ANGELA SPEER posted a condolence

My Dearest Debbie and Family,
My heart continues to be heavy with intense grief over the loss of your Beloved. Words cannot express or describe my feelings, for as with so many others in our family, I am forever going to miss your (and our) John. He was a more than special man, and everyone could see the love the two of you shared---you were soul mates as well as best friends. The love you displayed and shared inspired us all and made us want to be with you as much as possible. Family picnics and get-togethers were beyond special---so much fun, and always an abundance of home-cooked food, homemade desserts, and lots of laughs.
In addition to loving you, Deb, everyone knew how much John treasured every moment he shared with the grandchildren, Braxton and Leilani. As for myself, whom he called 'Angee', John was more a 'son' to me than a nephew. No one will ever replace him and while he is no longer with us on this earth, I know we will meet again someday and live eternally, with our other family members, and with our Lord.
With all my love,
'Auntie'

My Sweet Cousin Debbie and my Family, You all were blessed with a unique man. A loving Husband, Father and Papa. A man of few words, very deep and sensitive which made his wisdom and laughter that much greater. John shared the world with us through his life visions, doing everything he was passionate about. Seeking the land to find his quest in nature. He upheld his strong family values, that provided a tender and fun environment for all of us to share. His deep sense of devotion, security and love reflects John's character and legacy. My thoughts and prayers surround each of you with love. Peace be with you my family. Terrie

My precious Cousin Debbie, Myrla, all the family and loved ones who are grieving...
With great sadness, I give you all my most heartfelt condolences - what a valiant fight from such a kind, compassionate man. Debbie I have watched you and John throughout the years seeing nothing but 'love' between you two, a real love, oh how he treasured you...just a blessing to be around you both.
What an amazing man! John was always ready to help whether it be to lend an ear, give support, or just his time - he was always there for all who asked and indeed was a cherished part of our family. I will treasure the time he gave to us, the time from all of you, during our time of need, loss, and grief.
Such wonderful memories of the campfires, poker, those fireflies, his answering endless questions from me about hunting, the bow & arrow, and his many trophies - yes, it has always been a good time at 'The Gibbons House'...sharing in fun, laughter, tears and pain.
Myrla, John was an incredible father, and papa I'm sure, my condolences to you my beautiful cousin...he wanted nothing but the best of life for you...hoping he and my daddy are already into a round of poker!
We can find peace in knowing that we will all be reunited one Glorious day, comfort in knowing his pain & suffering are over, and hope in the healing from our Father in Heaven.
I will always remember that fabulous smile...
Continued prayers over you all for strength, for peace, for guidance...family is always there for each other - so know i am always here for you all albeit it a few miles away.
In His mighty grip,
Michele
Joe and Abby
Although quite young, they always enjoyed their time with you both!

To My Dear Cousins and God Children,
Please accept our deepest condolences for the loss of your wonderful husband, father, father-in-law and poppa! Thank you for sharing him with your Texas family.
It is bitter sweet writing a tribute for someone who was such a part of the family and my/our life. It is sweet and beautiful that John is no longer suffering, and has gone to be with our Lord and Saviour and join our family and friends who reside with our Father in heaven. It is bitter to lose someone so special. I have wonderful memories of laughs, vacations, poker, motorcyle rides, fires, picnics, shooting, conversations and quite times. We loved and cherised our time at the Gibbons Resort. John and I became special friends after the loss of your dear mother, and nonna. John came to Texas along with Debbie and Uncle Lenny and we bonded and all grieved together. The relatonship grew and then when my beloved dad passed you all came at a moments notice, same day as phone call and helped in every way possible. John, My Mr. NY, as he came to be known, was amazing. John handled every request asked of him. He was a perfect gentlemen, drove us all over Houston in 98 degree temps with 100 percent humidity and never once complained. He sat with us quietely as we made plans to lay my father to rest. He was a pilar of strength and support. From that time onward our relationship grew as a family and our memories grew as well. I could not have asked for a better friend and a better role model for our children.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers daily. We will continue to pray for comfort and strength in the days ahead.
God Bless You All!
Much Love,
Sharon a.k.a Mz Tx to Mr. NY.
