Obituary of Rita H. Illig

Rita H. Illig passed away March 20, 2017. Born in Lockport October 15, 1928 she was the daughter of Raymond and Kathleen (Collins) Haley. Rita worked for Niagara County Mental Health Association where she was a medical secretary. She was a member of St. John the Baptist RC Church where she belonged to the Altar & Rosary Society and the Funeral Brunch Group. She also was a member of the John Duke Senior Center, North Tonawanda Senior Center, the AOH Auxiliary, Newfane Golden Agers, and several other retiree groups. Rita enjoyed spending time with her family, dancing, traveling, karaoke shows, following sporting events, and reading especially biographies.
Rita is survived by her husband Daniel G. Illig; siblings Mark Haley, Janet (late, John) Taylor and Frank (Jane) Haley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Rita is predeceased by her brothers Eugene, Raymond, William, and Earl Haley and sisters Monica (late Francis) Wruck and Dorothy (Martin) Hickey.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass on Saturday, March 25th at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
