I read of this tragedy in the news and I could just imagine your deep pain so I want to convey some words of encouragement.
Death hurts, I miss my sweet mom each day. But we have hope. Please take to heart Jesus' promise at John 5:28, 29 "the hour is coming" when he will resurrect the dead. So we could be reunited with our loved ones. Also, death itself will be no more (Revelations 21:3,4). Yes here on earth where death exists, it will be gone forever.

My husband Mike, my sons Vinny and Christian would like you to know we are thinking of you and your family at this time. From a mothers perspective my heart goes out to you all so very much. Burying your child is the hardest thing to do and should never happen. He is with God now. He will fly with the angels in heaven. Vinny was on our sons team and remembers helping Ben with his swing on the side practicing. I asked Vinny what Ben was like as a person. He said: "Mom he was a cool kid and so nice to me. I am gonna miss him. "

To the Wasik Family: You don't know me but I wanted to tell you that my heart breaks for all of you at the loss of your beloved Benjamin. We too lost a child who was much loved so I do know the pain that you are going through. There are really no words of comfort that I can say to you except to take it one day at a time and grieve at your own pace. For me I write in a journal, made a scrap book of pictures, drawings, awards, etc of our boy's life. There is a tree planted in his name with a marker in our park that I visit once a week. We decorate it for different holidays too. It brings some comfort. No parent and/or grandparent expects to out live a child. He looks like a really sweet boy. Keep his memory alive every way that brings you some comfort. I am truly so sorry for your loss.

I have no words to express how deeply sorry I am that you are all having to experience this tragedy. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that in Ben's 10 years he touched so many people with his beautiful soul, kindness, and his genuine, happy personality. He was one of those children, as a teacher you can't ever forget because of the person he was. I do not know your family but did go to Starpoint with several of the Wasiks (graduated in 78). I read through the condolences and feel I must add my own. The family, especially Benjamin's mom and dad, haven't left my thoughts. I, too, lost a 15 year old son, 11 years ago, on an ATV, after reminding him to be careful and not be crazy. My heart will always be broken, my soul damaged, but time will ease the pain. I promise. My son was a twin and I know you will be more protective and at times, hovering over his brother and sister. Please know you all are not alone and we have that walked this walk before you are with you in prayer, thoughts, hugs, tears, and ask that question again for you....WHY? Keep your faith. I wish there were adequate words.

I am so sorry for the loss of Ben, He was a very sweet soul that was taken too early. I will never forget the stories he would tell and making me lye to other kids that he was not on the bus just so he could scare them. Never met Benjamin nor do I know your family, but was saddened when I heard the news. I remember always looking forward to a snow day from school when I was a kid and the news was just heartbreaking to hear. By the way, I've been going to a summer cottage in Canada since I was 5. I'm very very sorry for your loss. Stay strong.
