We were very saddened to read about Vince's passing in the local paper today. I met Vince while living in the West End of Lockport when we both were teenagers. He had recently moved in from Buffalo.
We soon became close friends for we both loved sports, especially baseball. Vince was very athletic and well liked by those he came in contact with. We played on the same baseball teams in the Midget Leagues B and A and also on the Lockport High School varsity teams. We had a ball. Military service separated us and then marriage relocated me and my wife, Kay, in the Middleport area. I have very fond memories of Vince and our close friendship in Lockport. He was a very fine person and a loyal friend.
Alice and Ricky, you have our deepest sympathy in losing a dear husband and father. He will be missed dearly by those who crossed his path. God bless you, Vince and rest in peace.
