Obituary of Nathan Mahomes

Nathan Mahomes went to be with God on 2/19/17. He was born 12/15/53 to Houston and Luecene Mahone in Andalusia, Alabama. He excelled in track, basketball and football and graduated in 1972 from Red Level High. He was in the Navy from 1973-1976 and was aboard the U.S.S. Inchon. He attended Lurleen B. Wallace Community College. He was the first African American in his hometown to attend fire college and became a fireman. In 1978 he became an Alabama State Trooper assigned to Covington County, Alabama. Nathan was a member of the U.S.S. Inchon Association.
He met the love of his life, Kerry Scalzo, in July of 1971. Parted in 1975 only to miraculously reunite March 24, 2009. Nathan moved to Lockport, New York so they could finally be together. Nathan is also survived by his children, Ariadne' (Rhea) Hill, Natalie Mahomes and Nathan Mahomes, Jr. He has two grandchildren, Caleb and Kiana. He is survived by his brothers, H.D. (Juanita) of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Otis of Andalusia, Alabama and Houston of Niagara Falls, New York. He also has several nieces and nephews.
