Hope E. Van Buren passed away on Sunday August 8, 2010. Born April 30, 1947 in Lockport, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Dorothy Verguson Sims. Hope worked for Par Industries in Amherst, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing cards and bingo. Hope is predeceased by her husband Franklin E. Van Buren, who passed away October 29, 2009.
Hope was the mother of Jody Blanchard and Jimmie (Carla) Glena both of Lockport; grandmother of Devin and Leland Glena and Mark Blanchard. Sister of Joseph (Debbie) Sims of Niagara Falls, Frederick Sims of S.C., Betty Klawer of Akron, Carl Sims of Gasport, John (Yvonne) Sims of Medina, Daniel and David Sims both of Gasport, Eva Sims of S.C. and the late Sharon (Johnny) Heath. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, three aunts and one uncle.
Friends may call Wednesday 5 to 6 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, followed immediately by a Memorial Service at 6 PM.
