George Lee Marky passed away August 6, 2010 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born July 2, 1926 in Buffalo he was the son of George C. and Tessie (Kopankiewicz) Marky. George served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946 during WW II. While in service he was awarded the Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Medal. He worked for Simplex Time Recorder &amp; Fire Alarms, Buffalo where he was an electrician. George is survived by his wife Frances (Preston) Marky of Lockport whom he married January 25, 1951. He is the father of Dean Marky of Irving, NY, Diane Marky of Beaverton, OR, Susan (Robert) Vasko of Lockport and Sandy (Harry Flatt) Marky, DVM of Medina. George is the grandfather of Ryan and Eric Vasko, Jennifer (Brad) Hillman and Greg Flatt; great-grandfather of Reagan Hillman; brother of Ronald (Naomi) Marky of Savannah, GA; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Sunday 1-3 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where a memorial service will follow at 3:30 PM. Memorials to the YMCA, 21 East Avenue, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
