What can one say at this sad time of loss, except that, please know Julie and you are all in our prayers and you have our deepest sympathy. She fought a good fight, God had other plans. If you don't mind, we would like to share a prayer someone sent us when our Annette died, that we find very consoling. "God grant that we may hold dear the memory of your servant, ( Julie )never bitter for what we have lost, nor regret of the past, but always in hope of the eternal kingdom where you will bring us together again. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen May God bless each of you and may the soul of your dearest Julie rest in peace. The Bardsley Family

Everyone whose life Julie touched will have special memories of her. I will remember a meeting at Friendly's where she poured out her story to help others struggling with cancer. I was in awe of her courage and her determination to be there for her children. She stood up to speak at the Relay For Life and taught us all a lesson in dignity. Julie was a gift to her family, friends and students and she chose, in the harsh days of her battle, to speak out for all those diagnosed with lung cancer, to try to make a difference. She wanted her story to tell how grateful she was for her family, friends and Washington Hunt family. She wanted the story to be about all those who stepped up to bring encouragement and beauty to her life. I'm sure all those people know just how much they were loved in return, because Julie had a big heart with plenty of love to give. Julie, you made a difference to hundreds of families and your heroic legacy lives on. I like to think you are like one of those butterflies at the Relay, set free to soar through the heavens to the comforting arms of your Lord. No more pain, no worry... your job here is done, and done well. The seeds you planted will go on to flourish and make you proud. Your students have shown love and compassion because you showed them the way and the world will be better for that. We, too, are students of yours. We have been blessed to know you and share your journey, if only briefly. We will never forget you, and we will never give up the fight.... Fly gently, Julie. Fly free......

I love your mother with all of my heart and soul - we were like two peas in a pod - so we shared everything. She asked me to watch over you and to be sure you are happy, I promised her I would and that she would never have to worry about you. So you are all stuck with me. We talked about each of you all the time and she wanted so much for you but most importantly she wanted you to keep your faith strong, and to be happy. She asked me to have each of you listen to "I Hope You Dance" whenever you feel sad because that song says it all. I love each and everyone of you. God Bless You. Aunt Pat

Although I only saw Julie occasionally, when she was down visiting with her sister Pat and family, I always enjoyed talking with her. Her sense of humor always made me laugh. We would inevitably talk about life in a classroom, and of course that always provided for lots of stories - the good, the bad and the ugly! Her spirit made her a wonderful teacher, mother, and friend. Her life is over too soon, but she touched many people while she was here. She will be sorely missed by her students, colleagues, friends, and family. I wish the best of memories for all of you.

My son had Julie as his 3rd grade teacher two years ago. Even though she was going through so much personally, it never showed in the classroom professionally. She always put her students first, and I always knew she had their best interests at heart. When I informed my son of her passing, he told me she was one of his favorite teachers. When I asked him why, he said it was because she was really strong. She will be remembered not only for being a great teacher in the classroom, but for a teacher about the value of life, and what is really important.

I only knew Julie from the few times I had met her, but mostly through her sister Pat and how her life was effected by Julie. I admire the love these two sisters had for each other and hope Pat can find peace knowing she did all she could to help Julie and her family through this illness. My prayers go out to all the family in this difficult time.

My dearest baby sister how I am going to miss you. Your smile, your strength your love and the faith you have had through this long journey. I miss you so much already that I can hardly stand it. But I am comforted being around your children and knowing you are with God now. The void you have left in my heart will never be filled. I will be there always for your babies. I love you so. Beth

Julie, Your strength and your faith inspire me and all who were blessed to have known you. Your desire to be closer to God leaves me wanting, too, to be closer to God. Having had the honor to spnd time with your family this week, it is easy to see from whence your infinite love came. The Galens and Wilson families are, indeed, amzazing. God blessed you with so many gifts. The gift of an incredible family, the gift to teach, the gifts of faith, humility, a sense of humor, congeniality, the gift to LOVE and to be LOVED! God has also blessed US with the gift of YOU! I know that, tonight, you are as proud as you have always been, of your children. Mary, Anna and Christian are a testiment to your love and to your faith. All that have known you pledge to be there for them and for Tim as they grieve and for always. God, Julie, I miss you. Your laugh, your smile, your honesty, your sense of humor, your integrity and our many discussions of faith. I always felt so comfortable discussing matters of faith with you and, yet, somewhat inadequate, because I only hoped to, one day, have a faith such as yours. You were never afraid, as you knew that there was an infinite love to which you would, one day go home. I have no doubt that you are favored by our Lord, chosen for great things. God's will is that your purpose, and ours, will be better served in Heaven, where you are among the angels. Thank you, Julie. Thank you for all that you are and for all that you inspire! May you rest in His arms tonight and for eternity. Love, Carolyn

My dearest Julie, how I mourn you - I miss you so much. My heart is so very heavy, the burden is almost too much, but I wouldn't take away this pain if it meant not having known you. I've loved you forever, you know - you're one of my favorite aunts! (Pat, I know you're reading this!) You've always made me feel so very loved and so very special. Thank you for loving me with such abundance. I hope you know how much I love you... forever. Missing you... Michele
