Obituary of Scott E. Strickland

Scott E. Strickland passed away December 8, 2016, in Buffalo General Hospital. Born October 22, 1944 in Syracuse he was the son of Charles E. and Florence (Verrier) Strickland. Scott served in the US Air Force from 1965 to 1969 and also in the Army National Guard. He worked for the Niagara Falls Air Force Base for 26 years where he was an aircraft mechanic retiring in 1993. Scott was a peace officer, served on the Erie County Sheriff Mounted Division, and was a firearms instructor. He enjoyed history, antique cars, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Scott is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jean (nee Lyle) Strickland; father of Frank Hebert, Dawn (John) Laufer, Julie (Akbar) Chowdhury, Jean (Jim) Sammarco, Stephanie Strickland and Scott Strickland. Grandfather of Dailya, Alexis, Steven, Phillip, Nadia, Isabelle, Amaan, Camilla, Shannon, Dorien, Olivia, Sophia and Austin and Great Grandfather of Preston.
Friends may call on Saturday Dec. 10th 2-4 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where services will immediately follow at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to an SPCA or to Veterans Association would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at www.pruddenandkandt.com.
