Susan Terese Hughes passed away Friday November 18, 2016 in Strong Memorial Hospital. Born in Rutland, VT, she was the daughter of Edward and Joyce Soulia Sanderson. Susan served on the Roy-Hart School Board, was the past vice president of the Niagara-Orleans School Board Association and advocated on behalf of environmental issues. She enjoyed volunteering at the schools for her children's activities, sewing and was involved with cat rescue programs. Susan was the mother Larissa Hughes and the late Robert Hughes; sister of Edward (Dawn) Sanderson, Jeff (Trudy) Sanderson and the late Carlene Sanderson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Susan will be missed by her dear friends, the LaPort Family, Cheryl Smith, Janet Howell and the Shepard Family and many more. Friends may call Tuesday November 22nd 3-7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held on Wednesday November 23rd at 11 AM. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929, would be appreciated by the family.
