James L. Kipfer passed away November 9, 2016 under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born on July 18, 1938, in Wilmot Township, Ontario, Canada he was the son of late Cyranius and Lena (Lichti) Kipfer. James served in the US Army from 1961 to 1963 and worked for Midland Asphalt in Tonawanda where he was a truck driver. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and using his John Deere. James is survived by his wife of 56 years Janet (Schaber) Kipfer; father of James (Carrie) Kipfer, Kenneth (Theresa) Kipfer, and David (Christina) Kipfer; grandfather of Michael (Elizabeth) Mulligan, Kathleen Kipfer, Steven Kipfer, Ashley Newman, and Jamie Kipfer; brother of Esther Haunn, Lester (Marie) Kipfer, Marie (Stanley) Gingerich, Ray (Mary) Kipfer and late Harold Kipfer, Wilber Kipfer, Robert Kipfer, Walter Kipfer, and Edward Kipfer; also several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Saturday, Nov. 12th 3-6 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where services will be held Sunday, Nov. 13th at 11 AM.
