Obituary of Frederick N. Jex

Frederick N. Jex passed away November 5, 2016 under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Lockport August 9, 1925 he was the son of Nelson and Mary (Wilcox) Jex. Fred served in the Army Air Corp from 1943 until 1946 and owned and operated Jex Garage. He also worked for Harrison Radiator where he was a master mechanic in the wind tunnel, retiring in 1988. Fred was a member Second Presbyterian Church and also belonged to the Charlottesville Masonic Lodge # 73 for 57 years.
Fred is survived by his wife Prudence (Chapin) Jex; father of Frederick (Darlene) Jex, Jr., Richard (Audrey) Jex, and Sharon (Leonard) Guagliano; grandfather of six and great grandfather of five; brother of Ronald (Marti) Jex, Joanne Fligger, Nelsonia (Patrick) Murphy and late Albert Jex and Gertrude Jex; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, November 7 from 2-4 and 6-8 in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street where funeral services will be held Tuesday morning November 8, 2016 at 11 AM. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated. A Masonic service will be held Monday evening at 8 PM.
