To Joan and Family:
I was saddened to learn on Tuesday morning as Elphie and I headed toward your mother's room at Northgate that she had passed during the previous night. Our visits with you and your mom were the highlight of our time at Northgate, something Elphie and I looked forward to, and the reason why I saved our stop at her room until the very end. Her passing was unexpected to me as she had always seemed so full of life with her sense of humor, crossword puzzle talent, and kindness to Elphie. It was equally a joy to visit with you, "Joanie". Your love for your mom and devotion to her were always so apparent, making her day and ours all the better. I will miss her and will also miss seeing you. Our Northgate visits will simply not be the same. Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss.
